On 13th July, Mr. Naomichi Numata, Executive Secretary and Mr. Takashi Shimatani visited a Thai national university “King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL)”.

We met Asst. Prof. Dr. Pitcha Prasitmeeboon, Vice President for International Affairs, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Watid Phakphisut, Head of the Department of Telecommunications, School of Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pisit Boonsrimuang from the Department of Telecommunications, School of Engineering, and KMITL engineering students.

There were fruitful discussions on possible technology areas for our future collaborative research work, such subjects as O-RAN, OTIC, radio communication, NTN, etc. And, we also discussed preparations for the forthcoming KMITL EXPO 2026 to be held from 1 to 6 September.

KMITL is well known Thai National University not only in Thailand but also internationally, and has a long history with Japan since its establishment.

KMITL was established on 24 August 1960 as Nonthaburi Telecommunication Training Center under the international cooperation between Thailand and Japan. You can find a tall monument to memorize its history of establishment just beside the building of Engineering School of KMITL.
